Blackwork Embroidery is a form of monochrome thread embroidery that was stitched to create inexpensive decorative trim on garments of the Renaissance. The creation of blackwork is sometimes called the double running stitch or Holbein stitched for the details often found in portraits done by Hans Holbein the Younger. Hand stitching blackwork can be very time consuming and very rewarding. It is a fine art-form that should be revered and cared for. When time is of the essence or you want to trim an outfit that may be machine washed and can stand up to field usage you may not want to spend the hours hand stitching. So we at Very Personally Yours, now offer people with 5x7 embroidery machines the ability to create their own custom trim in a fraction of the time. Each of our CDs contain a series of designs created for use by the home embroiderer to create trim for personal use or for to be used on sale items. We reserve the right to sell trim as individual packages.
